Our camp this year is going to be such a blast! We will leave on Monday June 9 and return Friday June 13. Just like last year, we will be participating in a mission camp which means we will leave the grounds for 4-5 hours during the day to serve in the local community. We have not been given our specific assignments yet; however, last years projects were so awesome we know we have nothing to worry about. Camp will be in Shocco Springs, AL which is just outside Talladega, Alabama. The theme this year is “Who do you say that I am” and will be centered around who Christ is and how we, as Christians, should follow His lead.
The camp cost this year is $280 per student. We have been able to bring it down from the original $415/student through fundraising events over the past few months and our youth budget. All money from the youth accounts can be used to off-set that $280 cost as much as possible. If you have any questions about the amount in your student’s account, you can text, call, or email Ryan.
Camp forms and money are both due by Sunday, May 18th. If an extension is needed, feel free to communicate this with Ryan and payment arrangements can be made. As always, we never want to allow finances to prevent a student from experiencing camp so scholarships for camp are always available when needed. Please express these needs to Ryan so the needs can be met.
Here are the two forms needed and a link to each for your access (both forms will need to be notarized):
Student Life liability form – This is the form the camp requires us to have completed. Click here to download the form.
Galilee liability form – This contains insurance information that is best to have in the case of an emergency. Click here to download the form.
Both of these forms can be filled out on your computer and then printed to be notarized (click the blank to get the option of adding text on the form).
Finally, Mrs. Sandra Deason will be at the church Sunday night, May 18 to notarize any forms needed. She has been gracious to do this for us in the past, and she will be doing it again this year.
If you have any questions or need anything at all, please let me know so I can help.
